Otherwise search for the XPS 2-in-1 on the support site, navigate to Drivers & Downloads, and look in Application.
I am in Canada so apologies if it redirects you. This LINK should take you to the page (specific to the XPS 2-in-1). I just received my XPS 2-in-1 and it looks like there is now a firmware update (posted today) to fix the issue! I thought it may only work on the QHD screens as other have noted on the regular XPS 13 however it appears to have worked on my FHD screen! Prior to installing the update it would 'fail' this test ( ), but after installing there is no change to brightness when switching between dark and light images! I just looked it up on Dell's site and there's a new driver for you from January 06, 2017. Yes, I'm surprised to see Dell didn't leave in the Intel software for managing the display adapter - they have on all the models I've used (though mine was a Latitude e7450). Dell support does not recommend installing Intel supplied graphic drivers.ĭid they give a good reason why? If not, I'd suck it and see. I've tried some registry hacks to get that option back but it was unsuccessful. I hope this fixes your issue!Īfter a lot of research, yes, Intel graphics drivers do have this setting, however Dell, in their infinite wisdom, decided to remove that option from the Intel graphics driver they supply for this model. A quick google search for "disable Intel Display Power Saving Technology" will show you the exact setting name. The setting you want to turn off is the Intel Display Power Saving Technology I mentioned above. The menu can usually be pulled up just by right-clicking the desktop and the context menu should have an option for Intel display settings. Wise Care 365 can push your PC to work at optimum speed with the easy to use interface. In any case, I'm not near my computer so apologies that my directions here will be vague but simply look in the Intel display adapter menu and you can disable this feature.
